On the 13th of November, Professor Annelies Vredeveldt will give her inaugural lecture to accept her appointment as Professor of Legal Psychology. She does not expect any gifts. If you would like to give something, she would appreciate a donation to a charity close to her heart: Stichting Verbonden Stilte (Foundation Connected Silence).

Stichting Verbonden Stilte (formerly named Stichting Félice) was founded in 2017 by Annelies’s friend Juliette. Annelies and Juliette became friends while they were pregnant with Alexa and Félice, respectively. Alexa was born in July 2017 and Félice was born in September 2017, but sadly died a week after she was born. Juliette decided to start the Foundation to support other parents who lose a young child. The Foundation helps to make this sad goodbye a little more beautiful, for example by sending a wood carving for the grave, a name banner for the funeral, or financing the embalming of the child’s body. In the first year after the death, they also send parents little gifts to support them through the difficult days. Annelies has been a fervent supporter of the Foundation from the start, and would really appreciate your donations.
